SECURITY & PRIVACY

Your money data stays tied to your account.

SpareTally is designed to work without asking for your bank login. You enter the balance you want to plan from, and you confirm when money is actually Paid or Received.

No bank connection

SpareTally does not need your online-banking username, password or Open Banking access. It cannot move money from your bank.

Account-level database rules

Your money records are protected with database row-level security so signed-in users can only access rows belonging to their own account.

Secure sign-in

Account authentication is handled by Supabase Auth. The website uses a publishable browser key; privileged database credentials are not shipped in the frontend.

You confirm reality

Scheduled money stays a forecast until you mark it Paid or Received. SpareTally does not silently pretend a planned payment happened.

SpareTally is a planning tool, not a bank and not financial advice. Keep your password private and use a strong, unique password for your account.

SpareTally started from a simple problem: a bank balance can look healthy while rent, bills and everyday costs are still waiting to land. A monthly total does not show the days when money gets tight.

So SpareTally works differently. It follows the dates, keeps planned money separate from confirmed money, and shows the lowest projected point — the amount that is truly spare before you spend it.

It is intentionally hands-on: you stay in control of the numbers, you decide when something was Paid or Received, and you can correct the bank balance whenever real life differs from the plan.
